Poker

Poker is a game in which two players each roll five dice. The player with the best roll wins a point. Under the usual rules, the player who is the first to reach two points wins, after which the winner receives a pre-agreed prize. Are you a new gambler? Make sure you read everything carefully before you start playing.

Category 1: Explanation – Basic Rules

Most players use the rules pkr 2w nr, which means:

  • In the case of a DF (dobbelfout), the other player automatically receives a point. (All DF situations are listed in Category 3.)
  • If both players roll the same result, the round is replayed, also called over.
  • You win the agreed prize once you have reached the agreed number of points.

Below is a short example of how a poker round works:

  1. You have two players. Before starting, you first agree on the rules you will use. Are these rules clearly agreed upon and accepted by both participants? Then the game may begin.
  2. Both players open 5 dice. The player with the highest roll receives a point. The score then becomes, for example, 1–0.
  3. Wait until the other player has finished rolling before closing your dice; otherwise it is a DF (dobbelfout).
  4. When all dice are closed, you may open them again. The player with the highest roll receives a point.
  5. Is the score 1–1? Then close the opened dice once the other player has finished rolling.
  6. When all dice are closed, you may open them again. The player with the highest roll receives a point.
  7. Is the score now 2–1? Then the player with two points wins.
  8. You receive the agreed prize.
Category 2: Rolls – Combinations and Order

Below are the combinations that can be rolled in the game of poker. The table below shows the possible rolls from lowest to highest, with an example next to each.

Category 3: Dobbelfouten – When is something a dobbelfout?
  • You roll a die again while it is still open.
  • You start rolling while not all dice from the previous round have been closed.
  • You close a die while you have not yet rolled all five dice.
  • You close your dice while your opponent has not yet finished rolling.
  • Rolling in while a game has already started, meaning after both players have agreed. (Rolling in must always be announced beforehand.)
  • You change gambling spots or intentionally leave your gambling spot while the game has already started.
  • If you disconnect during gambling, you have 10 minutes to return to your spot. If you fail to do so, your opponent wins if the game had already started. (This does not apply if the winner is already known and the winner disconnects; the winner must still receive the won items.)
Note: Abusing the 10-minute rule, for example by stating that the winning player will receive their prize after 10 minutes instead of immediately, may result in a ban.
Category 3: General Agreements

A poker game is usually played using the normal rules pkr 2w nr, which means:

  • You must win two rounds to win the full pot
  • If you make a dobbelfout, your opponent receives a point
  • When both players roll the same combination, the player with the highest value within that combination wins. If both players roll the same value, that round is replayed (ov).

Examples:

  • 44222 vs 33222 → 44222 wins
  • 44422 vs 33322 → 44422 wins
  • 44422 vs 33366 → 44422 wins
  • 44441 vs 33336 → 44441 wins
  • 33551 vs 33441 → 33551 wins
  • 44222 vs 44222 → Replay
  • 66123 vs 66234 → Replay
  • 55546 vs 55523 → Replay

The game starts when both players have agreed to the rules. Agreeing is usually done by saying gl. When, in the final round of the pot, it is clear who has won the entire pot, the game ends. If it is not the final round of a pot, you must always fully roll out all your dice.

Rolling = agreement / gl. Sometimes two gamblers play multiple games in a row. To speed up the game, they roll as a sign of agreement to play another pot (response to srgl). This only applies if it can reasonably be assumed that the roller is indeed responding to the rule reminder. However, it is strongly recommended to always agree by saying gl.
